Historic Former Temporary Imperial Palace Shogoin About Gotensō and Kōjun
Shogoin Monzeki is located north of Heian Shrine and south of Kyoto University, in a quiet residential area.
Within its precincts lie the Shoin, a designated Important Cultural Property, "the Emperor Koukaku's One-Night Study Room," and "the Tea Room," all of which retain their historical ambiance. It is within this area that the lodging facilities known as "Gotensō and Kōjun" have been opened to the public.
