About Kinrin Bettei
Origin of Kinrin Bettei
The area where Shogoin Gotenso stands, Shogoin District, was said to be a dense forest until the Meiji era.
The autumn leaves of that forest were said to be as beautiful as woven brocade, and it was named "Kinrin" after this history, as it was called the "Brocade Forest."
Tea Room
The tea room visible from the garden is a tea room used by Emperor Kokaku, presented by Lord Matsudaira, the lord of Kameyama Castle, during the temporary Imperial Palace of Kansei 8.
It can be used for tea ceremonies and tea ceremony circle training camps, surrounded by the Kinrin garden.
