A historic building that was hastily constructed in a single night to serve as a temporary Imperial Palace for Emperor Kōkaku during a major fire at the end of the Edo period.
In the late Edo period in 1788, a building associated with Emperor Kōkaku's temporary Imperial Palace that was used during the Daikyō procession of the Tenmei era has been preserved in the garden of Gotensō.
